Place & story
Three arches over the Roury
Roury Bridge, in Rouryglen, crosses the Roury River west of Derry’s reference location. The architectural inventory dates it to around 1760. Three round-headed arches support its raised, humpback roadway, with cut limestone arch stones contrasting against rubble-stone piers and parapets. A rendered pilaster marks the northern end of its western face. The survey records the crossing as an important meeting point for several rural roads. [2]
