Place & story
From donation to a community enterprise
The Brigidine Sisters donated their Mountrath convent and its grounds in 2017 to be held in trust for the community’s long-term benefit. Mountrath Community Forum developed the BloomHQ initiative with the Síol Foundation, converting the former religious property to community and enterprise use. BloomHQ’s own history dates its launch to 2019 and records the creation of a local business group within the Forum. The project followed the Forum’s establishment in 2015. [2]
