Place & story
Buildings for a growing school
The school’s own history records a building beside the church in 1846. Boys’ and girls’ schools amalgamated in 1941, and in 1946 the pupils moved across the road into a four-classroom building. An extension with a general-purpose room followed in 1984, when the school took the name Scoil an Linbh Íosa. Further rebuilding culminated in a formal opening by Bishop Moriarty in June 2007. The sequence records repeated adaptation to a growing village. [2]
