Players and local occasions

Gransha Pipe Band appointed Robert Greer as pipe major in 2005, succeeding Worthing Anderson, who continued playing. Sammy Smyth remained leading drummer. A report of the following summer places the band at First Dromara’s holiday Bible-club celebration, where Greer led its performance for local families. [2] [3]

World championship success

At the 2007 World Pipe Band Championships, Gransha won the Grade 4A drumming title. The band achieved a further distinction in 2010, taking the overall Grade 4A world title, as recorded by the National Piping Centre’s contemporary magazine. [4] [5]
