Place & story
A farmhouse with three names
The architectural inventory identifies The Beehive as the former Drumfin House, originally Carrigeenview House. It dates the farmhouse to around 1900. The compact building has three bays and two storeys, with a slate roof, sash windows and rendered corner blocks. Smaller upper-floor openings give the front a graduated appearance. [2]
Brick, timber and iron
Red-brick chimney stacks rise above the roof with stepped caps and yellow terracotta pots. Timber bargeboards edge the gables, while the central panelled door has a glazed overlight. At the road boundary, capped roughcast piers support an iron gate. The survey records substantial surviving original material inside and outside the house. [2]
