Place & story
A house for the parish
The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage dates the former rectory in Lackaroe to about 1895. Its original purpose connects the house with Templemichael’s Church of Ireland parish; the inventory recorded it as a private residence when surveying County Waterford in 2003. [2]
Projecting bays and gables
The two-storey house has a central gabled entrance porch, with projecting and recessed sections giving the frontage an uneven outline. Slate roofs, decorated timber bargeboards and paired window openings are characteristic details. The survey noted that most windows had been replaced around 1995, although one paired opening retained timber sashes. [2]
