Place & story

Five occupied houses

Curraheen had thirty-six inhabitants in 1911, twenty male and sixteen female, in five occupied houses. Its population had been twenty in 1891 and fourteen in 1901, with four houses in each year. The townland belonged to Toem parish, Kilnamanagh Upper barony and Curraheen electoral division, within Tipperary Union. Its area was recorded as 636 acres, three roods and twenty-eight perches. The return gives no explanation for the increase between 1901 and 1911. [2]
