Place & story
Flatfield Hall
Flatfield Hall, on Sugar Island Road in Moyraverty, is a two-storey Victorian farmhouse with a slate roof and a large courtyard of mostly stone outbuildings. The official heritage-at-risk record says it was apparently acquired by the Craigavon Development Commission for the new city before returning to private ownership. Listed in 2006, it was still recorded as vacant and deteriorating when reviewed in 2025. [2]
School provision
Ian Wilson’s history of education in Craigavon records that Saint Brendan’s was built at Moyraverty after growing enrolment filled Saint Anthony’s at Legahory. While their new buildings were being constructed, Saint Brendan’s pupils used accommodation at Lismore Comprehensive School. [3]
