Place & story
Planning shared space
A newspaper retrospective records plans announced in June 1967 for a primary school at Tullygally. The proposal accommodated 540 pupils in separate nursery, infant and junior sections, alongside dining and assembly facilities. Its assembly hall was designed to be separated from the classrooms so that Scouts, Cubs and Brownies could use it outside school hours. [2]
Cycling to swimming lessons
In November 2023, Tullygally Primary became the first school to join the council’s Get Moving School programme. Vice-principal Mr Guy described pupils using school bicycles and Craigavon’s black-path network to travel to swimming lessons. The school also worked with Sustrans on active travel and participated in the Daily Mile. [3]
