Place & story

The parish church

Magheragall's Church of Ireland church opened on 2 June 1831. Its congregation marked the building's 195th anniversary in 2026, combining an anniversary service and shared lunch with a Sunday school presentation about a community gardening project in northern Argentina. The occasion connected the old church with the work of its younger members. [2]

The Methodist church

Magheragall Methodist Church traces its origins to approximately 1790. Its own account records a continuing Methodist presence in the area and the opening of a new church building in 2001. The building stands on Glenavy Road, providing a separate strand of the locality's religious history. [3]
