Place & story
The courthouse entrance
Omagh courthouse stands at the upper end of High Street. Twelve steps rise to a portico with four columns, a triangular pediment and a clock face. The historic buildings survey records limestone walls with deeply marked joints at the lower levels, rounded ground-floor windows and square-headed windows above. Decorative iron railings enclose the approaches. The south extension continues the main building’s lines while adding another storey on the sloping site. [2]
