Forty-five occupied houses in 1911
Glebe had 268 inhabitants in 1911, 138 male and 130 female, in forty-five occupied houses. The earlier figures were sixty-eight inhabitants in seventeen houses in 1891 and eighty-nine in twenty houses in 1901. The townland covered 280 acres and eight perches, in Urney parish, Strabane Lower barony and Urney East electoral division, within Strabane dispensary district and the Tyrone portion of Strabane Poor Law Union. [2]
An earlier boundary mistake
The 1901 report warns that some houses belonging to Glebe (Old) had been returned under Glebe in 1881. Its footnote records an enumeration error between neighbouring townlands, requiring care when comparing their earlier figures. Glebe and Glebe (Old) remained separately listed in both the 1901 and 1911 tables. [3] [2]
